Reading is an experience
Good online publishing is not just about placing text on a screen. Line length, contrast, spacing, navigation, and predictable interactions all affect whether someone can comfortably understand a story.
Readable by design
Use body text large enough to read without strain, generous line spacing, and a comfortable measure. Avoid pale gray paragraphs on white backgrounds. Do not hide important information behind hover-only interactions.
Respect different readers
Some people use screen readers, some navigate by keyboard, and others enlarge text significantly. A well-structured page with semantic headings and meaningful links helps all of them.
Remove unnecessary friction
Keep advertisements and decorative motion from interrupting the reading flow. Make sharing and navigation easy to find without turning every paragraph into a call to action.
An editorial commitment
Accessibility is an ongoing practice. Testing with real devices, assistive technologies, and readers is as important as following design guidelines.
